The Vanishing Amur Leopard
Leopards as a whole are an adaptable species, found in a wide variety of habitats across Africa and Asia. Many of the subspecies are still numerous, but the Amur leopard of eastern Siberia, China's Jilin province, and perhaps even the mountains of North Korea, is considered to be in immediate danger of extinction.
The Amur leopard is named for the Amur River region that makes up part of the border between China and Russia before eventually flowing into the Sea of Okhotsk.
