For the first time in Korea, EBS is exporting its documentary program format to Vietnam. The format is of the program <Teachers have changed>, and the Vietnamese version started broadcasting in November 2017. The program is a documentary based on a project to coach teachers.

Total seven teachers take part in, four cameras record the classes of each teacher, and three educational experts observe and analyze the teachers’ behaviors. Then by watching the recorded classes together, teachers are provided with advice and feedback on their teaching methods and get a chance to evaluate themselves as a teacher in a very objective way. It was highly commended in that it made both students and teachers get to better understand each other. It was broadcasted in 2012 in Korea, and received a number of accolades.

Sungwook Jung, who was the main producer of the Korean version, helped the local team as a “Flying PD”. What is more, a special episode that commemorates teachers’ day in Vietnam was broadcasted two weeks ago, and people liked it so much that it was even decided to air it on another channel as well. Many program formats in entertainment or drama have been exported before, yet this is the first time a documentary format is sold overseas. <End>
